I am Paul’s sister-in-law and William’s daughter. Paul has pretty much said it all about how impressed we were with Kathleen and her assistance with guiding us through my father’s medical journey. We had complete confidence in Kathleen’s abilities; from her vast medical knowledge, to navigating the complex health care system, and assuring us we were doing the right things with Dad’s care. Most importantly, she was always available to answer our questions and never made us feel stupid or if we were a bother.
I wholeheartedly recommend Kathleen and her services to anyone who finds themselves in a situation where additional health guidance is needed. Worth every penny!!!!

Medical Advocacy
The help and advice you have been looking for and truly need can be found in Kathleen King. Regardless of your level of understanding, you and your family may have regarding the care for a loved one, Kathleen utilizes her vast knowledge of all aspects of the healthcare conundrum, and she does it with a true level compassion. Our family of four started our journey back in June of 2024 with an unexpected trip to the ER with our father which we thought would be a short visit. Over the course of the next several months his hospital stay was interrupted by several trips to rehab at multiple facilities. As you can imagine, along with multiple facilities comes not only multiple doctors but dozens of nurses and skilled care givers. As we soon felt overwhelmed it was recommended by a friend / attorney that we reach out to Kathleen at Reliable RN. After a 45-minute introductory phone call we felt that we found who we needed to bridge the gap between the health care providers and a family trying to do the best for a loved one. Kath’s knowledge of the behind-the-scenes protocols at all types of facilities, drug care and interactions, physical and occupational therapies, diet restraints, patient care and a list that could go on for paragraphs is impressive. All along, she is doing this in an efficient, proactive manner, and keeping the family informed at all times while maintaining a high level of compassion with our entire family. We have come to the end of this unfortunately journey with Kathleen after 7 plus months and we cannot have imagined going through it without her and can by no means thank her enough. And for those who may be wondering, no, she is not only reasonable but in the grand scheme of healthcare, by far and away the best bang for your buck! Thanks for all you have done Kathleen!

Thank you for the kind words. It’s the family that did most of the “heavy lifting” – in this case both figuratively and literally. Thank you for trusting me at times when the conversations were hard. I hope you are all filled with a sense of joy that you did “everything” to make your fathers last months a reflection of his wants and needs. I am grateful for being able to work with all of you!
In Crisis...
Kath came in during the moment of crisis and immediately put us all at ease. At this point I was taking all guidance from doctors and nurses who kept changing shifts with little consistency and who had little true interest in how my friend would fare after leaving the hospital. Biggest mistake was that we brought Kath in just one day too late to get guidance on choosing a rehab. Our choices were bad and worse…. But Kath did help us make the best of it and watch over that rehab to make sure they did as they were supposed to.
She joined me on all family meetings to help ask the right questions…. When I could do little more than nod and agree with the “experts” – how could I know better.? Again thank goodness for Kath who could see right through it and ask the tough questions. She attended doctor visits too and again could ask the right questions.
The best thing was that she helped us navigate to a much better rehab and now …. So thankfully … my friend is ready for move into assisted living. Again – Kath has been with us every step to make sure that we could make the best choices.
If only we had brought her in earlier …. If only I knew that “geriatric care management” was a thing. ….. my friend would have gotten out of that hospital in half the time and instead of needing 8 weeks of rehab, could have gotten out in 4!
Thank you Kath, for being the true guiding light through all of this! Thank you for being so flexible and helping at any time….
I am more than happy to connect with any prospective families that you may have! Please just reach out.

In July 2024, my 19-year-old son’s lung collapsed. It was scary and very painful for my son but he has since bounced back like the healthy 19-year-old that he is. However, he is on various restrictions (can’t fly in a plane, no strenuous exercise…) and I felt it is very important to see a pulmonologist for follow up to see if his lung could collapse again and if he can start doing his normal activities. Kath helped us find a pulmonologist by his school in New Hampshire and when we were having trouble getting his hospitals in MA (initial ER and Primary care) to send the xrays/records to the new dr, Kath addressed all the red tape and facilitated the transfer of medical records. Without Kath, I’m quite sure my son or I would still be on the phone/filling out more forms trying to get those records to the correct office. Hurrah, Kath! Knowing I have a knowledgeable, patient, reliable RN that I can call whenever I have medical issues large and small has reduced my stress level when I need medical help for both my elderly mom, and now my kids. Kath is a blessing to count on and a joy to work with.

Always happy to help Marie!
Post Surgical Care
Kath was invaluable when I came home from spinal fusion surgery. She understood the complexity of the post op care that I needed. She had creative ideas for how to safely move. Also, she was an incredible sounding board for my post op fears. She followed through on the post op instructions I came home with & helped me wean off the pain meds. She was accommodating of the hours I needed her, always on time, and was never on her phone. I’d recommend her for any nursing situation. Lastly, she’s funny, happy, and honest.

So happy that your recovery is going well. It was a pleasure being part of your post surgical healing team.

The past year or so has been pretty tough. My elderly sister had a series of falls, and ended up in hospice. At the time we were living near Boston, so a place in Braintree seemed fine. The great part of this story is that she had an amazing recovery and is no longer in hospice and was able to move to skilled nursing home. The difficult part was that when we moved to the Cape she was now over an hour away. Kath and Reliable RN helped me navigate finding her a place closer to us now that we are on Cape Cod. Kath was so aware of my circumstance! It was so comforting to have someone who truly understood what being far away from a loved one means and the impact it was having on my life. Kath has great experience and lots of connections to help people like me, who are going through this for the first time. She has been a huge help! My sister is ready to move to a facility only 15 minutes from my house. What a relief!
Thank you Kath! and Thank you Reliable RN!

Acute Care and Transition Planning
Kath was an absolute lifesaver for our family during my Dad’s traumatic drowning event that left him in the ICU on life support. Navigating the complexities of the medical system felt like being in a foreign country where we didn’t speak the language, but Kath was our steadfast guide. She took us from the ICU to a rehabilitation center, ensuring my Dad received the best and most informed care possible.
Her support was unwavering. She was always available, providing invaluable advice and answering every question with patience and clarity. Her deep knowledge and extensive experience in healthcare were truly indispensable. She translated confusing medical jargon, helped us understand when and how to assert ourselves with the medical staff, and found the perfect balance between passive acceptance and aggressive advocacy.
Kath’s contributions were many: she guided us in asking the right questions, suggested critical family meetings and planning sessions, and assisted us in setting and understanding measurable goals and making reasonable requests. Her presence was not just helpful but essential, providing a sense of security and empowerment during an incredibly difficult time. We are profoundly grateful for her exceptional support and expertise.

I had no resources to be able to “hear” what was being said about my hospital blood tests and even what questions to ask about next steps. I was introduced to “Kath” at Reliable RN and she became my advocate on a cell phone line. This connection made me feel supported and secure. She spoke on my behalf with my hematologist and we three exchanged ideas freely. Please don’t hesitate to use this personal resource, she is smart and well experienced…. BJ Tiso
Response from Reliable RN
Tiso, I was happy to be a resource at your MD appointment. Happy to help.
Acute Hospitalization
Grateful to have a medical professional to help understand the medical jargon… recently found ourselves in a situation medically with my husband that I would not have been able to navigate without someone at our side to explain information and make decisions for the good of my husbands care… Kath also had the wherewithal to ask questions and question treatments… very helpful! Thank you!!!
Response from Reliable RN
I was happy to be able to advocate for you both. So glad he is on the mend!
