#nutrition #nutritiontips ANSWERS to: More T or F questions:
1. Fruit juice is as good for you as the fruit? (ie: OJ is as good for you as an orange) – FALSE – hoping you all got this one. Juices are high in sugar, low in fiber. Whenever possible, eat the fruit!
2. Drinking sugary drinks daily leads to diabetes – TRUE – “A large 2004 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that women who drank one or more sugary drinks per day increased their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 83% compared to those who consumed less than one of these beverages per month.”
3. The recommended serving size of peanuts is 28 peanuts – TRUE, the biggest mistake people make with eating nuts as part of a healthy diet is serving size. We tend to eat too many or overestimate the actual single serving size. Enjoy nuts, just less of them.
