#stress “A National Mental Health Crisis” – that’s what the APA is saying. In 2020 they released the following “We are facing a national mental health crisis that could yield serious health and social consequences for years to come.”. This report was in direct response to the pandemic but many in the health field started seeing this trend well before the pandemic. Gen Z adults (now from about 18-25 yrs old) are particularly hard hit. They have endured disruptions to HS or college classes, school shootings, an onslaught of news about climate change, and witnesses catastrophic would events like fires, droughts and floods. Add to that a war, a dysfunctional political system and an economy that makes it harder and harder to live independently. This is NOT good stress. So how do we manage or support them?
