Let’s Talk About Strength

Research has shown that it’s important to get all four types of exercise: endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. Let’s talk about strength. Do you lift weights? Do you carry your own groceries? How about standing leg lifts? Strength training helps to minimize accidental falls and improve your balance. Strength training makes it easier and safer getting out of chairs and climbing stairs. Resistance training can include bands, weights or your wall (a great way to do push ups). For younger, more active people aim for 2x a week, 20-30 mins of serious weight training, both arms and legs. Your body will thank you!
