New Year’s Resolutions Should Be Enjoyable, Not Stressful#stress Goals are great; unrealistic goals are stressful. Finding motivation in the start of a new year is great; doing something in the new year because you’re supposed to is stressful. This year I’ve been challenging people to make small but measurable changes in their sleep, activity, nutrition and stress management. Why? As a way of supporting true health. “Losing 30 lbs.” is chasing what the world values. “Losing 5-10% of my current weight” is helping to decrease your risk of heart disease, diabetes and other preventable illnesses. New Years resolutions can be wonderful ways to reassess, restart and refocus on a health goal. I’d love to help you find better balance and habits in 2023.
“Focus on your well-being, like you always should. If a New Year’s resolution is not doing that, it’s not worth creating. Don’t create an artificial timeline based on something you read on social media or deal with culturally.”
