#stress The good news? Colleges are more responsive and are working to creatively meet the mental health needs of students. Some schools are accelerating “intakes” meaning a student can walk in and been seen on the spot. Some are finding ways to create better connections between students through clubs or peer support groups, some are even asking faculty to be the frontline observers, acting as a kind of “first responder” to identify students they are worried about. Many schools are also looking at overall wellness promotion – more healthy food and drink choices, mindfulness opportunities and more. Todays students are in some ways even more plugged in but, in many ways they are harder to reach.
