Fight SAD With Light

#sleep “Disturbances of sleep are a hallmark of seasonal affective disorders (SAD), as they are of other mood disorders. Fall/winter SAD patients most often report hypersomnia.” – Sleep, mood and emotional health are very closely tied. Welcome to February. It’s cold, often without sun or more limited sun at least in the Northern areas of the USA. It’s why there are “snowbirds” and more vacationers to our Southern states this time of year. But what if you can’t get to more sun? How do you manage with less light? Many with SAD use bright light therapy. The interesting thing is that people might be sleeping more but the quality is not necessarily better and – the lack of light affects those with and without SAD about equally. https://ift.tt/2iMZNwK
